Josh Tovar
Josh Tovar is a passionate educational leader, proud U.S. Marine veteran, and advocate for student-centered leadership. Born in Ciudad Juarez and raised in El Paso, he found purpose in the Marine Corps before earning degrees from UTEP and Sul Ross State University. With over 33 years in education across 13 institutions, Josh brings a wealth of experience to his current role as Principal at Memorial Pathway Academy in Garland ISD. Known for his “Connections before content” mantra, he focuses on building authentic relationships and leveraging social media to amplify student success. As the host of the PGPPodcast, he inspires educators nationwide, reminding them that “Podcasts are free PD—no excuses!”
