Dr. James Lane
Dr. James F. Lane is the CEO of University Instructors and a nationally recognized education leader. He previously served as Managing Director of K–16 at ETS and as CEO of PDK International and Educators Rising. Dr. Lane was Acting Assistant Secretary for the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education and Senior Advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Education after serving as Virginia’s Superintendent of Public Instruction. Named the 2017 Virginia Superintendent of the Year, he has also been a local superintendent, assistant superintendent, principal, and band director. A lifelong musician and trumpet player, he is a member of the Carolina Beach Music Hall of Fame with The Castaways.
